+ How does Managed Linux Services work?
It is really simple, we just install our monitoring application on your server and let it go. We can either set it to send us alerts or monitor it at various intervals depending on the level of support you have with us. The software has a very small footprint so it shouldn’t cause issues with other servers.
+Do I need to have my server hosted somewhere specific?
No, you can be hosted in your office, your home, co-location, dedicated hosting, or even the cloud. We don’t care where you are hosted, we can work in any environment.
+What if I am not in the United States of America?
The internet makes the world flat. We can serve you wherever you call home, just make sure your servers are online!
+ Do you only work with specific Linux distributions
We can support most any Debian or Red Hat based operating system. While we are partnered with Red Hat, Ubuntu, and SuSE, we are pretty agnostic when it comes to distributions.
+How quickly can you setup the services?
We can generally have everything setup within 24 hours. In larger or more involved setups, it can take 48-72 hours but if we think that may be the case, we’ll let you know once we collect information from you.
+ What do you need to get setup?
Usually just a user (either root or one with sudoer rights), password, domain/IP Address, and SSH port. If you don’t know that, we can try to step you through the process of figuring it out.
+ How involved do you get with third parties?
As involved as you want us to get. If you would like us to communicate with your data center on your behalf, we’ll gladly do that. If you would like us to help you purchase parts or services for your servers on your behalf, we can do that as well. Some services may have a cost associated but not always. If there is a cost, we’ll let you know ahead of time.
+ What other services do you offer aside from Managed Linux Services?
We do offer website, web application development, and custom scripting services. These are quoted separately from our regular Managed Linux Services but if you email sales@torchlighttech.com, we can help generate a quote and get you started.
+ Do you offer non-profit discounts?
ABSOLUTELY! We appreciate the great things you are doing for you community and want to help. We treat non-profits on a case by case basis so just email us at sales@torchlighttech.com and we’ll figure out a way we can help you without breaking the bank.
+ Can I cancel at anytime?
You most certainly can. We do not require you to sign any long term contracts and you can cancel at anytime. We do ask that you give us thirty days notice prior to canceling.
+Can I ask for a refund?
You can refund any unused services. However, you cannot refund for previous months used.
+Can you do special projects?
We have yet to see a project we cannot handle. Our knowledge expands from VoIP Telephony, LAMP servers, File Servers, Cloud Hosting, Virtualization, Mail Servers, etc. If you have special needs, let us know and we’ll gladly work with you to set something up. Please note, these projects often have a separate quote.
+Do You Offer Backup Solutions?
We can perform backups for your servers and perform checks to ensure that they are occurring. You can use your own backup or use ours at $0.05/GB of data.
+What if I bring you customers?
We love referrals and we love new customers. If you bring us customers every so often, we’ll offer you a one-time referral fee or discount (if you are an existing customer).
